The Phoenix School of Law (PhoenixLaw) Library is pleased to continue to support the research needs of our alumni. After graduation, any graduate can register for an Alumni Access Membership at the Library. In order to use the Library as an alumnus, you must complete the registration form and submit it to the Circulation Department; obtain a new "alumni" identification card photo from the Library or Facilities department; and pay the annual registration fee of $50.00 (along with the one-time $30.00 access card fee). The PhoenixLaw Library recently published a Guide containing very helpful information on the requirements to acquire a license to practice law in Arizona right after law school.  Access it by clicking here or going to:  http://researchguides.phoenixlaw.edu/AZbarinfo

The Guide has links to the rules that govern Arizona's licensing requirements as well as links to forms, practice questions, and study aids available in the Library to help you prepare for the Uniform Bar Exam.

Further, the Guide explains the Character and Fitness process and the required Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam.  There is also a list with links to email addresses for the Academic Success Department and a description of the Department's myBar Program.

It is never to early to look into what lies ahead after law school.  The better informed you are, the better equipped you will be to handle what can be a very daunting process.

Are you currently enrolled in an externship or working as a legal intern? Need some help researching Arizona laws? The Law Library is offering a workshop on Arizona Practice Research, Wednesday, 4/17 from noon-1pm in Classroom 1337. This workshop, part of our Law Practice Series, will introduce you to important resources for Arizona legal practitioners, including many free or low-cost alternatives to the major commercial vendors.

Are you a first year law student looking for some extra practice developing research strategies? Or, are you a 2L or 3L looking for a refresher on legal research principles? The Law Library is offering a workshop, titled Legal Research in a Nutshell, this Thursday, 2/21 from noon-1pm in Classroom 1337. This workshop will include reviewing secondary sources in order to find cases, statutes, and regulations.  You will also practice generating search terms, including conducting advanced terms and connectors searches.
