by Michelle Vallance 7. January 2013 14:28

Are you enrolled in a seminar course during intersession? Need some help with research strategy and navigating the myriad resources available to you? Don’t feel like traveling to the Law Library?

Well look no further – the PSL Law Library is introducing “Roving” Research Assistance in the student lounge on the 20th floor this week and next. A Librarian outfitted with an iPad, loaded with legal research apps, will be available to answer any questions you may have about conducting research for your topic.

Research assistance in the student lounge will be available from 12-1pm and from 4-5pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, 1/8 & 1/9 and again on 1/15 & 1/16. Please feel free to stop by and chat with us!

Speaking of iPads, did you know that the Law Library owns several iPads that you can check out? That’s right! Just visit the Circulation desk during regular hours and we’ll get you all set up!

Accessibility to Electronic Resources Via QR Codes

by Lidia Koelbel 14. June 2012 11:21

What in the name of everything that

is legal are these odd looking

pictures all over my law library?!

These are signs containing QR codes which you can scan with a smart

phone or iPad.

Scanning these codes will link you directly to the electronic book's record

in the Library catalog.

All that is left to do is log into your library record and enjoy the

electronic book right there on your mobile device.

If you do not have a mobile device, you can still access these titles by

following the link printed below the QR code or searching the catalog by

title.

Are cases on Regional Reporters also available electroncially?  It seems

the library only has the Pacific Reporter as far as Regional Reporters.

Yes!  Those cases are conveniently available electronically through

Westlaw and Lexis.  If you are in the Library, you can scan these QR codes

and you will be linked to the Regional Reporters record on the catalog.

Have questions and do not want to walk all the way to the Circulation or

Reference areas?  Scan these barcodes and chat with a Librarian.

Unfortunately, chat will not work on iProducts because you need Flash.

Flash and iProducts just don't get along.

Let us get with the times.  Electronic Resources are here and now!!
